This may sound like a dumb question but here it goes. Is the red insert in the lower part of the door panel supposed to light up when you open the door? This is on a 2003 convertible. I don't know if they are supposed to or not, or if they even have bulbs in them. Can someone please inform me. If not then I may try and figure out a way to get them to light. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, it does not light up. Simply a reflector so when you have the door open at night oncoming cars can see the open door when the lights hit the reflector.
just a reflector... it is logical to assume it would be a light... A lot of less expensive GM cars do have lights.
The only explanation I can think of is weight reduction...
