Default FE3 suspension

Im still pretty new to vettes, and a buddy told me I have the FE3 suspension. What exactly is that the z51 and if so what does all this mean. I know i dont have the adjustable suspension controls. Just looking for a little clarity on this issue.

Thanks in Advance

First of all - welcome to C5 Gen, Paul. Secondly - if you complete your profile, at least with the year and model of your Vette and the City and State in which you live, it will be a lot easier to answer questions for you moving forward.

I don't know what year your car is or whether it's a coupe or convertible, but I am sure it's not a Z06 if you have the FE3 suspension which is a component of the Z51 package.

Here's a chart for an '04 that might answer some of your questions. Also - the Z51 included a power steering cooler than none of the package had. It did not change the brake rotors or the OEM tires like it does on the current C6. Hope this helps...

FE3 is Z51
Z51 is the upgraded race option that was offered. Better shocks,Bigger sway bars, stiffer shocks also had power steering cooler

General Motors uses three digit codes known as RPO's (Regular Production Options) with all of their vehicles.
Suspensions start with "FE" followed by a number.
FE1 is typically the base suspension, known as "soft ride".
FE3 is the "sport" suspension only available with the Z51 package in C5s.
FE4 is the "rally" suspension only available with the Z-06 in C5s.

Z51 is not a suspesion by itself, but a code for a package that includes an upgraded suspension.
