Default What Are Your Views?

Hello All,
I have a question for the masses. Is it worth it to buy a high mileage (100K+) Vette in order to invest in modifications? I am very interested in buying a high milage car in order to make it a toy! Upgrades I am looking into are: 427 with TT, the usual cat back exhaust upgrade, C6 wheels, etc. BY having the motor upgraded to 427, does this ensure (term used loosely) longevity? I have also considered having the car sent to LPE or another specialist in order to complete the mods. Again, I am presenting this to the pro's in order to make a well informed decision. Thanks in advance.

This is such a subjective thing. I always say do what you feel
would be the best thing to do there will be alot of opinions on
this mod and there will be no right way or wrong way. I think
you are heading in the right direction concerning the over all
costs involved.Be careful onthe costs or you will have a 200
thousand dollar vette thats worth 50 thousand and hard to
sell in the future
Good luck-RP

There is such a thing as diminishing returns! Decide now how much power to want and whether or not you can use that much and do the math backwards! A $20,000 50,000 mile vette and Twin turbos for another 9 to 10 grand will be faster than 95% of the cars you could come up against!

Not a bad idea. You will probably end up upgrading lots of other things along the way. Instead of changing out basically new parts, like the differential, clutch, etc, you will be changing out high mileage parts. I only have 20k miles on my car and am on the second engine, second clutch, and third differential.
