I am thinking about getting rid of the 97 and going for a Z the car will spend most of its time at the track and I will be doing a lot of engine mods anyway so the extra stock horse power is not worth the extra money to me but if the suspension or weight is different thats another story.
Thanks for any help, Dale

Thanks guys, from the looks of things in the o2 review ( a great article!) I think I will go for the 02 if I can find one but will not be dissapointed if I have to settle for an 01.
anyone interested in an over priced 97 :) :)

Suspension components are slightly different - they are improved - swaybars are new and improved, rear suspension is tuned better. The 02 will make a slightly better track car to start in any case.

Modding an '02, at this juncture is open for a lot of speculation.......the engines valves are different, the intake is different, the intake box is different, the sway bars are different, the cam is different, IF you are gonna MOD one to death, get the '01........
Save a few grand, and do the MTI cam, and head package.........
This will put you OVER 400 RWHP, with headers........and little or no more mods.....(other than a reprogram).....and it's all guaranteed........
An '01, with a simple Halltech TRIC, will put you at base line '02 HP, and maybe even above...........
All this aside, IF you plan on keeping it for a LONG time, then it won't matter WHICH one you get........if you are going to trade in a couple of years.....get the '02. :chevy
