New Zaino convert
The car is a white 99 vert that is my daily driver (50k miles). I ordered off the Zaino website and had the products in a couple of days. I washed the car with Dawn dish detergent Friday evening to strip off the old wax. I set aside all day Saturday as it seemed I would need it based on other users experiences.
I had not bufffed the paint since last fall so it was getting some swirl marks in it from repeated washings. I decided to skip the clay bar since I was using the swirl remover. I spent about 2.5 hours with the Z-PC swirl remover and my Griots Garage random orbitol buffer (another great product by the way). Needless to say I wasn't in a hurry and got out every swirl mark and scratch. I used less than 1/2 of the bottle so I've got plenty left for later. I've used a lot of buffing products over the years but I have to say this one has given the best results with the least effort.
I mixed up 2 ounces of the Z2 polish and ZFX flash cure additive per the instructions and got to work. Zaino is right when they say one ounce will do the average car. I waited about an hour for the polish to dry and then buffed it off. I wasn't that impressed wth the results at that point. When I went over the car with the Z6 gloss enhancer spray the results really started to show.
I don't know what they put in the Z6 that brings out the shine the way it does. This first coat gave me the deepest shine and smoothest finish I've ever gotten with one coat of any polishing product. When I set a polishing cloth on the hood it just slid off! I got a second coat of Z2 and Z6 on Saturday and a third Sunday morning. The claims are right...the more coats you put on the better the shine gets. When I took the car outside today in the sunshine the reflections off the white paint were incredible. The shine depth and clarity was almost like looking in a mirror.
Thanks Zaino...I'm a convert for life!
