Default Blackwing Cleaning

How often should one clean the Blackwing air filter? Can the supplied red and green indicator be trusted? My indicator is still green but my filter looks pretty dirty.

If it is looking dirty, go ahead and clean it - won't hurt it as long as you use the proper cleaning supplies.

I just use an L shaped attachment with compressed air to blow it from the inside out, 'til it gets really dirty... BTW, I don't trust the indicator...

Great info..... Anyone got a link to where we can buy the Blackwing cleaning kit (cheap). I know K&N cleaning kits can be had for around $10-$15. Does that work for Blackwing too...
