Default Convertible replacement

My vert needs a new top. The back window is loose all the way across. From what I've read and called shops is that it is heat sealed and cannot be fixed. I have a 99. I live in Greensboro,NC.Has anyone had one replaced around here? Is it really worth the cost to go with the 5 ply or is the 3 ply the way to go. I would prefer to buy the top myself and pay for the installation. What have any of you guys paid for your replacement, mine is the oak cloth but I'm going to go to black.
Thanks

Default Convertible Top Replacement

There is a manufacturer and I can't remember the name, Robbins? Or something like that? You can do a search for convertible top replacement here on the Forum, and you should come up with the company name. From the previous posts I have read regarding the tops they sound like a great company to buy from. Good Luck in your hunt!

I had a new top put on a few month's ago in Cols. Ohio.Just under
$1200. I was going to get the top myself also and have someone put it on for me but then I started thinking about what if something was wrong with the top when they tried to put it on. It would be up to me and at my cost to get it shipped back and a new top shipped and it was only about $150 more to let the installer order it and put it on. It was his baby then if anything was wrong!! I wanted a ROBBINS top as this was the recommendation of a lot of members on here. They have a web sight with local installers in you area. Good luck!! I hear the robbins tops are the best.

Last year when the glass was peeling away from the top I had it reglued, and its been okay for a year. Next time I will probably get a Robbins top installed.

Robbins tops are infinitely better than the stock tops. I've got the Robbins and it's great.

There's a canvas shop here in Trenton who quoted me about $1,200 installed. The bad part is that the car would be tied up for a day and a half or two days. As it says in the MidAmerica catalog, replacing a top is not a trivial job. I've Superglued my window several times, but this hot weather we're having keeps separating it. Same with the trunk lid insert- the lid gets so hot that the double sided tape keeps letting go.

Anyone had a EZ on top? Corvette America and MidAmerican MS uses them as a supplier.
