Default Something to check out

About two months ago I sold my 01 vert which I bought new. The new owner before he bought it had me take it to a dealer who thoroughly checked it out. The only thing that they found was grass clippings at the front top of the radiator. I play a lot of golf so I assume that where I park the car was the source of the clippings being sucked up.

I bought a 02 Z06 last week with 8,500 miles on it. When I got it home I decided to look at the top of the radiator and found about one solid inch of debris mostly leaves and grass at the top of the radiator.

Get enough of this stuff up there and your cooling will be ziltch. I don't suppose that many of us think to look up there!

Thanks for the tip.

Sounds like something we all should be aware of.

I put a screen on mine and that helps, but you still have to clean her out from time to time.

What method do you guys use? Do you disassemble, suck from the front or blow from the rear of the radiator? (yea, yea yea)

That would make his car a real "dirt devil"! Sort of a "hell on wheels" kinda guy, no?

I've gotten into the habit of looking up into the radiator cavity every time I wash my car. It's like a vacuum cleaner.
