I also posted this in C5 General Discussion but since I have a Z06 I thought I would also post here.
I sold my 01 vert with 26K miles and the new owner had me take it to a Dealer for a inspection before he would fork over the $28K. The only thing they found wrong was a lot of grass clippings blocking the front top of the radiator. They must have come from the spot I park at the golf course.
I bought my 02 Z06 last week and when I got it home I looked up at the top of the radiator and sure enough there was about 1 solid inch of grass and leaves that had been sucked up. this car has only 8,500 miles on it!
Left untouched I am sure over time enough crap will get up there to cause a cooling problem.
Thats pretty common on all C5s. I don't remember who. But one of the support vendors makes a raditor protector that stops all the clippings and road particles from getting to the raditor.
