Default dyno help

my first time ever dynoing my 01 z06 today and i must saY I am happy and confused. i took my car to a major vette tuner and got my car dyno tuned today and the car put down 400.5 hp and 323 tq. i have never seen those numbers for a car with so little mods like mine. if true the hp is awesome but why so little torque?? before the dyno tuning the car would trap consistent 117mph at the track. i know theres something wrong with these numbers does anyone have any ideas??? my mods are kooks long tubes, catted x pipe, stinger catback, shaner throttle body, vararam intake, 4.10s and a 160 thermostat thats it. please everyone throw your 2 cents in . thank you

I wonder how much the bigger rear end gears "help" the dyno HP?

The dyno calculates HP using an equation, with the biggest factor being how fast the roller accelerates. With the higher gears you'd accelerate the roller faster.

Someone out there must have some numbers to compare with the same gears....

Yeah if it was a dyno jet the gears will change the HP numbers. If it's a load bearing duno like a Mustang, they have a minimal effect.

Same car and very similar mods except stock gearing. 375rwhp on a Mustang dyno, so your numbers sound about right for a jet dyno with your 410s.

That's funny - it has been my experience that gears have a negative effect on dyno numbers, especially on a dyno-jet. I had 4.10's in my old C4, and it "only" dyno'd at 333rwhp - but would easily stay side-by-side with stock 01 Z06's (which dyno in the 340-350 range).

I also see that your torque is WAY low - only 323?
