Anyone have a set of powedercoated RED calipers their looking to sell?
I can't find anyone around here (Sacramento) who is shooting red for powdercoating, and the local place (MSI) doesn't do it anymore.
They make you buy the Z06 ones at $350.00 a set plus pay for install
I don't have a lift or anything, and are pretty much mechanically stupid (new corvette owner), so I would rather not do it myself.. anyone wanna help me out?
If anyone lives in or around the Sac area and has a passion for this stuff like I do, I am willing to pay someone (in beer maybe..lol) to come help me out!
I really hate to see anyone blow thier money that way. You may not be mechanically inclined, but you don't need to be to this job. Most auto parts stores sell red caliper paint for about $15-$20. Take the wheel off, use a little bit of tape so that you don't slop the paint around and in no time at all, you are finished. Put 2 or 3 coats on just to make sure you've covered the area. It could not be easier....
If you just can't be bothered to do it that way, check out Mid-America or one of the many forum vendors, I am sure you can find the prepainted ones.
Good Luck, you will be pleased, red calipers look awesome on a black vette.

That sounds so easy, my fear is just knowing what to paint and what to cover up with a sheet or tape??

The caliper kit (paint) I bought from Advance worked great and is brushed on making it much easier and covers better than a spray. Then just knocked off the letters with a file.
If you decided to paint your calipers. I have a suggestion. When I painted mine after cleaning them off I put "chapstick on the top of the CORVETTE letters. After you paint them you just wipe off the chapstick from the letters. Just a suggestion.
I painted mine with the caliper paint kit sold at advance auto, I think it is called duplicolor caliper kit, very easy, first coat looks bad, but dont worry just keep adding coats, then I took a razor blade and scraped the letters and then a sanding block to finish up with..
and yes I know my center caps are different.. working on possible getting new wheels..
