I'd wash her 2 good times, clay bar, polish, wax. And going forward...make sure to rinse well after washes and dry with a shammy to avoid leaving droplets on the finish.

Wash with Dawn to remove the old wax. Clay and re-polish/wax and you should be good to go.

^^ Yes sir, Dawn will do the trick. I wasn't going to say for fear of being flamed by other users with fancy wax removal techniques

Any normal wash and rinse, then dry should remove the old water spots

Black cars must be cool and washed when the sun goes down. I've had great results with clay bar and Zaino ZPC with a random orbit buffer on dark colored cars.

Your answer could be as simple as washing in the shade with Dawn and then drying with a chamois. If your water-spots were caused by hard water (calcium deposits) then you will probably have to go with clay bar and then re-polish.

Made that mistake once. Washed and dried it pretty quickly but the summer sun beat me to it. Now I wait until the sun goes down. I used the Carnuba Cleaner Wax that came with my clay bar and it took the spots right out.

That should work well for your car.

Clay bar is the best. It will take off the water spots plus any dirt that is stuck to the paint.

Also do a search on waterspots in the car care section. Lots of good info there.

Then rinse the car with distilled water and never have to worry about spots again.

Black Cars- what a pain to keep clean! New products on the market really help.
Wash the car when cool and not in sunlight. If using a commercial spray carwash, use the final rinse that is filtered water.

Clay bar with detailer spray if necessary.

After washing immediately wipe with a"California Water Blade" which is a silicone wiper. I had my reservations when I bought it but it is great and no scratches. Windows, paint, chrome, it doesn't care. Chamois always left a fine layer of crap. The Water Blade justs wisks the water away. Wipe the remaining spots with a microfibre towel- again it won't scratch.

Finally when you get back from a drive use a California Duster to dust the finish to avoid having to wash. I do this on my black caddy and my Magnetic Red Vert.
