[Z06] Code reader/scanner for Z06?

Code reader/scanner for Z06?
Do any of you have recommendations for a code reader/scanner for the C6 Z06?
I also have a 2002 Tahoe and a 1994 GMC 1 ton diesel. I think the '94 only has OBD-1.
From what little I know, the Actron 9145 or 9150 will cover all of these cars. Does anyone have experience with these models or others you might recommend?

I see. Your information is helpful, and I do have a laptop.
My immediate problem is with my '94 GMC diesel, which is the old OBD-1 and I just want to read the codes (which I think is all the old system could do anyway?). I get a code 78 which is the turbocharger waste gate solenoid and I want to see when the code occurs, so I was hoping for an inexpensive code reader for that.
So my uninformed goal was to get a reader that would take care of all of my cars. But it sounds like for the Tahoe and Vette, these cheap instruments are pretty lame. Fortunately, I don't have any problems with the new cars.
So I'll have to decide whether to get something good as you suggested, or just get something cheap to help resolve my turbo problem.
