Default Need ACI Chin Spoiler Installation Tips

I am going to be installing my ACI Chin Spoiler at GBVette's garage in a couple of days, Neither one of us has ever installed one so can all you ACI spoiler owners give me some tips such as: is it best to remove the front bumper, do you line up the spoiler with the wheel wheels, how far beyond the nose should the spoiler protrude etc?

Thanks

P.S. I developed a skid plate for the spoiler that will hopefully keep it from getting all banged up. I will post pics after the install.

Very simple to line it up. You have 17 bolts holding it in place. There are 8 bolts down each side and one dead center. The center one obviously helps center the thing.

You do NOT need to remove any part of the car. (well maybe the 2 side rubber airdam parts)

There are 2 metal brackets that come with your ACI spoiler that need to be riveted to the inside of the facia and that can easily be done form underneath (while on a lift)

It really is easy and you'd have a hard time NOT getting it lined up correctly. Believe me, when you get under there with the part, you will very easily see exactly where it goes for proper side to side and forward aft alignments.

When doing it, tell Gary he can call me if you guys need help. I've been there, and done that.

By the way, here's my car with the ACI on.

I remove it once in a while (it slows me down on the big tracks)

PM me with your e-mail address and I can send instructions.

basically you put it in place with stock air dam bolts and mark holes to drill. then remove, paint, drill holes, install metal bars on each side with pop rivits. Then when paint work is done you do the last install.
Note. I put all 3 stock air dam pieces back on-I like the way it looks better. The instructions say leave outside dams off. Also - on the 2 metal bars- you slip body clips on to bolt to later. When you do so tape them with a wrap of tape to hold in place. As you need to slide these metal bars inside front end and pop rivet in place. The tape helps hold the clips in place while sliding into place and for later if you need to remove Chin spoiler at a later time to repaint-it helps keep the clips in place. I pull mine each winter to touch up rock chips. One more-if you have a drak color car leave some of the rear center of the chin spoiler unpainted. It helps you see if you have any foreign objects stuck in there. Well thats what worked for me.
It will not make you any lower but will make how low your front end is out farther. You can do it-they look great. While your messing about in there lower your front all the way down on the stock bolts.JMHO

They are a must..

If you bought it from someone that removed it from their C5, the metal brackets are still riveted inside his front facia..... I am sure ACI will send you a pair at a nominal charge, if any charge at all.
