Stability Control / ABS System Messages

Are there any simple things I can check that may cause these error messages to come up? I hesitate bringing any vehicle to a dealer unless absolutely necessary.

Look at the FAQ sticky at the top, more specifically post #28, where is describes how to read the DIC codes and what the codes mean. Then you can search on that particular code to see if anyone else has had the same issue...

Bad EBCM. Seems every single one of these cars needs one replaced eventually.

To check your codes

While holding "Options" button hit "FUEL" Button 4 times

Get a pen and paper ready to write down codes.

1214 is a definate sign

EBCM issue if you are under warranty you are lucky if not you need to purchase a new one.

I feel the pain I have been there just 2 months ago.

I got the messages last week (2003 Z06). I added brake fluid. Messages went away.

This was usually ABS the fix with my 1995. Maybe it works for the new ones too.

I don't know if the newer cars have a separate code for low fluid.
