Default Help Doing Head Swap

Where Do The Two Shorter Bolts Go On The Heads. These Are Gm Head Bolts. Your Help Is Appreciated.

If you don't count the smaller 11mm bolts,(top row) the shorter bolts go in the outside holes of the center row. Under the valve cover.

Is this for your 04?

If so, you have the wrong head bolt set.
Beginning in 2004, all the large head bolts became the same length. The shorter ones will not work for you.

97-03 cars used shorter bolts on the outside holes of the middle row, as stated above.

The GM part # for the 2004/newer head bolt set (for one head) is 17800568
The GM part # for 97-03 head bolt set (for one head) is 12498545
