I cant get my coolant drain plug out. It is one of the replacement plugs, Ive tried turning both ways and it just wont come loose. I dont want to go at it with pliers because I dont want to bust the tang on the plug. Any suggestions would be of great help....... Thanks Rick
The plug is nylon with a single metal radial pin that runs in a spiral track. Use 3/16 internal hex wrench. One quarter turn CCW places the pin at 3 oclock in a removal slot (pull gently). Another eighth turn is full open but cannot be removed.

Hey Pewter, I understand what your saying, but heres the thing, it is a replacement plug no internal hex just a tang to hold on to. Ive twisted both ways and it wont move enough to do any thing. Im lost Ive never had a petcock problem like this before. Ive gone ccw and it will turn but not even a quarter of a turn and it wont pull out. I wanted to do this this weekend, but maybe not..... anymore ideas let me know. Thanks Rick
