Default Considering purchasing a 2001 Z06

I am considering purchasing a 2001 torch red Z06 with 36K miles. It's in nice shape for a fair price. My concern is the Carfax report. Nothing bad as far as accidents, theft or anything like that, just that is has had 5 owners. Seems like a lot to me. Sold twice at auction. I thought it might have the oil consumption problem, but the current owner says 1/2 quart in 5K miles. He drove it from New England to Arizona and back. Looking for thoughts and advice. Should I be concerned?

Have you seen the car 'in person', or just pics over your computer?

If you search this Z06 forum you should find a couple of recent threads on this subject with several opinions. These may or may not help, but you are certainly welcome to post your own questions and concerns within this, your own, thread. Most of us will try to help, since we want you to have your own, nice Z06.

Personally, I would not be concerned. I bought my '01 for a very fair price, so I jumped into it with "both feet", prepared for whatever owning it was going to take. Most '01 owners will say they don't have huge worries about their oil consumption.

Do you have plans to modify it... mildly?/aggressively?

That is exactly how many owners my 01 had when I bought. I was very hesiatent at first because of that, then I went and test drove and it drove looked great. That was about 6 months ago and I dont regret the purchase at all.

A friend looked it over and gave it 2 thumbs up. It's owned by a mechanic. I am going to check it out tomorrow. I plan on leaving it stock.

My '01 had several owners in a short period also. I did have a concern, but I think most owners may have thought it was just too much car, as I have had no problems and no oil burning issues. The guy I bought it from could not understand how anyone would want this car for a daily driver. I love it and it is my daily driver!!!

Bro, the 01`s with a couple easy mod`s are everything a 02-04 are(minus the HUD).I had a brand new 02 best car i ever owned. My 01 z06 would possibly tie or beat it from 80 to 110 mph the pull is scarey in these cars!If she`s in good shape save some money get her quick, or someone else will
