Yes I seen one on a C6 that is contoured to go around the waterfall and has Corvette lettering on the back. The guy said the dealer put it on. Since I found them on Ebay and our local dealer couldn't find one for a C5. I seen the vette net and the ones that have polycarbonate and round pipe but this was like extruded aluminum real clean looking. The dealer said their supplier was Custom Corvette Accessories. I left them a mess. and haven't heard back. The thing I liked about it was you didn't have to drill any holes it mounts to the deck lid brackets somehow. The guy's with the C6 was mounted solid so they did do some drilling and notched the carpet. It slides out of the brackets and you can store it in the trunk.
I seen the vette net but it doesn't look as clean looking as the GM C6 version. I like the screen look with corvette printed in the middle of it. I can't find out who makes it to see if they have plans for one for the C5.Also the vette net has round tubing which to me looks kinda cheap.
Thanks
I purchased a first generation vette net on the forum a couple of weeks ago. It has the square tubing, and is pretty much the same as the guy who started this thread describes. It does not say corvette on it, but has the blue GM label on it. It works pretty much as advertised, I've used it on the highway a few times. It is a little bit taller than the current vette net. I opted for the used one just because of cost. Here is a quick photo...

Does yours bolt in or does it have brackets made so you don't have to drill into anything? Thanks for the shot!

I'm glad I looked at this thread.
My apologies for not calling you back. I copied your number down and deleted it from my phone, and then someone made off with my call list
We do sell a lot of Vette Nets, and we do sell to some dealerships.
I looked for the item as you describe it here and can not find one like the description. I can't seem to locate one with the Corvette lettering. I would suspect it is a licensing issue.
The current model Vette Net is made out of extruded aluminum.
For what it is worth, we have never had one returned for any reason. Everyone that gets them seems to love them...
Again, sorry for not being able to get back to you.

No drilling at all, just set the mounting pieces in place and close the lid. Then drop the screen into the tubes. No modifications at all, and only a few seconds to install and remove.
