problem with chip in my car please help

Default problem with chip in my car please help

so i have a jet chip....and when i put in in my car......(bought it from another forum member)....."its preprogrammed" ....it was wokring fine for the fisrt few hours i had it in.....shifting faster and harder...then over the day it was getiing worse and worse....the car was shifting crazy.....all these check engine lights where coming on....my coolinf fans stopped working.......and my car was just acting weird...when i got home i unplugged it...(it plugs right in between the computer and wiring...) then my car was fine again....im afraid to put it back in....any reason it was doing this????

edit: found out problem it is made for 99.....i have it for sale in the c5 section for a 99!!!

first check with the manufacturer and make certain it is for your exact year/model of car/engine. It doens't take much to make them not compatible.

second, perhaps this is why it was for sale.

I have never heard of a power chip put into a C5.

I was always told that it couldn't be done. Obviously this thing is causing your issues as the car runs normally when you de-installed it.

Chip out...no problems.

Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Sorry, I'm like the rest of the CF members, never heard of putting a chip in a C5.

Dump the chip, it's not compatible, or requires additional tuning done with software to make it work.
IMO- garbage.

Car is supposed to run better with the chip installed, not worse.
Maybe you installed it backwards!

i think i found out the problem...the chip is made for a 99 i talked to jet performance...and they said they are made for specific years...so this will be for sale in the c5 sale section
