Yep, what Keith said. My wife refers to it as "your car" (ie: mine) - She can take it or leave it (mostly leave it) - to her it's just another car, "it's no big deal"
So, I constantly ask her after I get a compliment on "my car," if she receives similar compliments on "her blazer" - that usually triggers some smart azz remark from her
My GF says that " Its just a car..." and that when I go to wash or wax her she calls it bonding time but she doesn't hate it.... She is happy that I was able to realize my dream
She never understood the whole "car" thing. She always was jealous because I spent a lot of time waxing, researching, and most importantly $$. At the time the vette was my only vehicle and one day she says, "do we have to take your car"? UUUHHH WHAATT?? She would NOT go out in it, so she drove us in her Toyota Echo!! Did I mention my EX girlfriend? It was one of the best things I've ever done!!
If you don't like a Vette, there is something wrong with you. Most likely if it is a woman talking though and says "I don't like your car" it means something like " You think I'm fat and you are going to leave me".
My lovely wifey liked mine ok till last week......Upon exiting out of our neighborhood on the way to church rather spiritidly....the acceleration caught her off gaurd thus snorting a newly opened coke into her nasal passages....from the way her eyes crossed it must have burned pretty badly..thank god none got on my seats...!!!
Wife loves the looks but can,t stand the sound says its tooo loud. That pains me greatly. But at least she took me for a ride in it the other day as I havent been able to drive for the past 5 weeks
My wife calls the C5 hers and drives it as much as I do. She loves to go to shows with me and look at other mods to consider, mostly just bling though as she thinks it's fast enough stock. She calls the C2 mine because with no power steering or brakes she can't drive it.
My wife wasn't overly enthralled with the Vette. Now, she's gone, and the Vette is still here with the addition of heads and cam, intake manifold, injectors, longtube headers, high flow cats, X-pipe, GHL exhaust, Blackwing, Yank SS3200, transmission coolor, etc., and a full dyno tune, since I divorced her. That money bought me a lot more pleasure from the car than I ever received by spending money on my ex. Met the woman of my dreams since, and she loves both me and the car. Life now rocks!
