C5 coupe hatch modification
Has anyone thought about taking the rear hatch and modifying it to look like the hardtop, except the functionality of the hatch is still there?
Basically fusing a hard top to the rear deck but make it work like the original coupe hatch. Instead of having all glass it looks like the hard top, except with the Targa.
This is because I like the Targa but the lines of the hardtop and convertible better. I don't like the bubbly looking glass on the hatch that much.
Has this been done or thought of?

I answered my own question by doing a little more research. Sorry for the dumb question.

I thought about buying a used convertible hatch lid and cutting it to fit inside the coupe. Then you would see the color throught the rear glass and have the water fall effect for the console

I've seen a C5 at the Pavillion's in Scottsdale (Phoenix) that was a vert, but the owner molded a FRC top to the vert lid & also had the front portion as a removable targa top. It's cool looking, if I remember correctly it's pewter in color. Don't know who owner was or if he is a member of this forum. Probably hi bucks for the mods.
