Default Short Shifter

What will I gain out of purchasing a Callaway Short-Shifter. Is it a good mod?

The CALLAWAY shifter isn't one that gets discussed very often. I think it's along the same design as a KIRBAN with a detachable lever. I recall one of their representatives stating it's not a KIRBAN (or made by the same company who makes the KIRBAN ?)
I checked their website (not an easy site to navigate, IMO) and couldn't find a reference to their shifter. I might have missed it there somewhere. You might contact them as they're a site supporting vendor.
You might also look at this discussion for a poll of popular shifters...

I had the Hurst in mine and loved it! I took it out cause the wife did'nt like the extra effort. I went with the C6 z shifter, very very nice.

Want a good deal ona used Hurst!? And a cool aftermarket ****.

Just installed the zo6 shifter in my 02-z. Nice shifter but the anti-venom mod really makes it complete.Real smoothy now with this mod.Initial zo6 shifter seemed a little notchy to me, but the anti-venom rally helps.

I actually just installed the Callaway shifter a few days ago after reading some good reviews. It seems to get more press in the C6 section.

I like it a lot. No annoying rattle, feels very solid, and looks great also. I went ahead and got the metal shift **** with it. A real improvement over stock. I ordered from their website.

I put the B&M Ripper shifter in my 02 Z06. Trouble free!

Chop an inch off the stock shifter first and see if you like it, before spending bucks (call that a "gain"?) on an aftermarket.

I replaced the B&M shifter that was in my 01 Z when I bought it with a callaway, best mod I've done to date, much improved feel over the B&M and easier to get in first, fifth and reverse than the B&M.

For what it is worth, I bought the Hurst shifter, put in the weakest spring and did the anti-venom mod. I like the short throw but had a rattle unitl I changed the shift **** to a billie one. The only thing I do not like is the fact that it does take some effort to shift into 6th. If you are paying attention then there are no problems.

Hi
I have a bm ripper I like it no rattle clean shifts but I did the
Anti venom mod on the detent so there is less pressure on the detent spring when you shorten the shifter it becomes very stiff so if you losen the detent it shifts like butter................

How long did it take to ship...?

Last I checked, that doesn't really shorten the throw/improve feel/add precision at all...

Don't know anything about the calloway shifter. A lot of people have installed the C6 Z06 shifter and been very happy, myself included. The other thing to do as someone else already said is the "anti-venom" or detente bolt mod. More info on that mod can be found here.
