HELP!!!! I just received highly detailed photos of car I might be purchasing. the dealer is very honest and pointed out a flaw very early in our discussion. A very small piece of the rear edge of the driver door has cracked off apparently. he stated opened to door into garage bay wall. is this fixable, "livewithable", or just cut my loss and find a different car.is this a common problem with vettes? I have the pics I could email them to someone, but they are not hosted so I cant post them. if someone has bodywork knowledge or has had a similar problem. I would like a best guess at cost to fix. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
If it small and not really noticed I say live with it, my body man just did a C5 that the driver swung the door into a block wall and broke the edge, he repaired it and it looks perfect only downside is the whole door had to be painted and cleared and you could notice just a slight variation in characteristics of the texture (orange peel related), color was spot on.

a photo would help but it sounds like it could be minor. Are you a knitpicking kind of guy that will look down at it every time you get in the car? If so, maybe you should pass. If not, use it as a big discount issue.
I am a little ocd comes with my profession, but I think the thrill of driving the car would enable me to overlook it. could email pic if someone wanted to take a look though.
great big thank you to nathan from GA "dick vandangle" for taking his own time to go look at a car for someone he has never met. he was quick to do it and quite honestly looked at the car closer than I might have. he gave me great details about the car. Again I want to thank him personally. CF members are a cut above the rest. thanks to all from this newbie.
My opinion is this:::
My car was a big step for me... I got the one I wanted ...If I were you I'd get one just right with no body work!!! There are plenty nice vettes for sale, don't rush into something you may never get over!
If you want the car you could get the dealer to reduce it the amount it takes to replace i.e. reskin is about $1700
salvage door $150- $250 plus paint
But there are so many Vettes for sale why bother?
