Default Best Radar Detector

Hello Guys, I am looking at getting a radar detector. I have narrowed down my choices to these three 1. Bell STI, 2. Escort 9500, and 3. Valentine 1. Did alot of reading and it still seems to be a tough choice.
Thanks,
Sam

This question is asked every week here. If you want the best then get the V1 because the arrows are awesome. Want to save some money get the 8500 x50.

The consensus of a multitude of posts on this topic seems to lean towards the Escort 8500 (x50) or the Valentine 1 as the leaders - and the folks that support one or the other as being the brest are very passionate in their views.

To net it out, either one (as well as some other types) wil serve you well - it is really a decision of the bells and whistles you want, and the price you are willing to pay for them...

the only advantage to the 9500 over the 8500 ois the GPs logic that can mute false alrams once you tech it which are flase...
Escort told me the rest of the unit has the same detection capabilites.
I have both the 8500-X50 and the V-1 they are both great, I like the directional arrows and thus use the V-1 in my d.d. which is the Vette.

The V1 is probably the best, but the Escort will also serve you well.

If you can afford it get the V-1 they are upgradeable so they never get obsolete, call them and ask for a "demo" unit and save 10%.

I've been hearing for many years and by many people that the Valentine One is the best radar detector you can buy.

Default Thanks guys

I know, with the search button I came up with a "million" hits, I just wanted to get an idea on what the best detector was quickly. I went with the V1.

The V1 is generally considered the most sensitive and is therefore great for the open highway. Around town, with all the extraneous radar sources lurking everywhere, the 9500i, with its' speed related auto-sensitivity and lock-out features is probably going to be one of your best bets. Ideally, you could benefit nicely from such a combination - one at a time of course.

My reasoning for the v1 was that I would prefer a false call rather than no call at all. Also the V1 tells you the number of "bogeys" and of course the arows! I hope this works out!

If you want the best get a built in with Laser shifters. Anything that hangs on your windsheild is a toy

Who cares about Radar decetors now? Wana go Hi-tech, find a Laser detector/Jammer...............if you can find that "works". LEO's are using Lasers now, which are not detectable - UNTIL you're already HIT with it, by then its too late.

There are Photo cameras on stop lights, and Lasers being used.......what's next....

God Bless America...
