I'm tight on budget, and wondering if either of these plans are even worth getting? I don't drive my car too much, and I'd only be getting a 2 yr plan@max...
If it's possible to get the Major Guard plan this would be the best choice.
That is the "bumper 2 bumper" plan.
There are some vendors on this forum that can get you some incredible deals on these policies.

If your past the original 36/36 then you can still get an "after market" warranty..........only a few can do the Z model vettes, you may want to look into Warranty Direct, others here have had their policies and said they were pretty good company do deal with. You can get B2B as long as you are below 50k miles.
Just do some research before you buy.
That's good advice to do your research. WARRANTY DIRECT is one of the after market companies that several have complained about.
Apparently, they're very strict if you've done any modifications to your car. I recall one member who disclosed to them what he had done to his car and they refused warranty coverage at a later date.
Do a search in the C5 General Forum using keywords "WARRANTY DIRECT" and see how their policies may affect you.
True, doing mods will always leave you open for a claim to be denied, and that would go with any warranty, Factory, GM Endorsed (GMPP), or after market. The key is to get to know your service manager, most of the time they can run interferance for you.
I would say the rep for WD is totaly in the wrong for having sold the policy in the first place.............I have no personal experience with WD, but had heard another member here in the Zo6 section say he had used his policy a few times with no hassle service.
Most of the time a warranty company will cancel your policy when they find out about modes...............some will let you keep it only to deny you again and again and by the time you cancel, your pro rated refund is smaller than the first time you got denied for mods.
I've even asked the uderwriters for our policies if I could have the policy and mods and just not get covered on anything moded, and they said no......................would be nice to get a power window or something fixed even if I have nitrous or some other high end mod..........NO!!!
If you have mods or plan to mod and want warranty..............get to be friends with your dealers service manager and ask, who gives them the least hassels, or who they have good repore with and rarely sends out an adjuster..................then find out if they do the Z's.
There are a hand full of after market companies that are considered "better" than WD but they do not offer coverages on the Z's, only on the strait C5's.
