I am considering the purchase of headers for my ‘01 coupe. After the “Bassani X” pipe I have installed “Magnaflow” mufflers. Magnaflows suit me well, because they are not too overbearingly loud; yet they have an “authoritative” presence when I lean on the throttle.
In headers, I’m looking for a little rumble, or better stated, presence under the hood, yet, not so much that it will annoy bystanders (or frighten slumbering babies). The description “pleasingly mild” comes to mind.
So, what brand might be considered moderately toned shorties, or are there no such thing?
I bought JBA headers off of craigslist.com for $350. So far I'm happy with them. Install wasn't too bad. While not a huge change in sound, its a little deeper at idle and a definite increase in volume at WOT.
