spots
1) on rims, have no idea; were there when I bought the car in March
2) on the hood, all I can tell is it's a discoloration
3) and this is a rock chip
Thanks!

The paint on the hood should clean up with some quality white rubbing compound mixed with water, or a good cleaner wax.
I just tried a new product from Turtle Wax that is one of their Ice products. I forget the name, but it's something like Ice Clay Bar Cleaner. It's in the same shape squeeze bottle as their liquid Ice Wax. It is very easy on and comes off with some effort like a cleaner wax. It did a great job on our black M45 Infinity that has crappy quality paint.
Go to your Chevy dealer to get touch up paint for the hood stone chip.
There has been quite a bit of discussion on these topics in the past over in the Car Care Discussion section of the Forum and you may want to check there. Too, several very knowledgeable people and a few professional detailers hang out in that section.
Good luck!
