Default silly question??

Hey folks, I purchased a 2001 automatic vert this year and at the time I thought I wanted a vette that I could take the top down and just cruise and it has been great. But more recently here I am intrigued by the Z06 but they are FRC. I have a jeep that I can cruise with the top down so I guess I am really looking at what will hold its value or someday be a collectible. I am looking at a 50th ann. 2003 Z06 with 4500 mile for $10k more than I paid for the 01 vert with 38000 mi....Would you guys go for the Z or just enjoy the vert...May be a stupid question but I would value your opinions...Thanks....PS I have yet to drive a Z so i dont even know the difference there...

The difference sounds about right...
As to which will hold value better, my bet is on the Vert...
But them I am biased....

Get the car you want, you can add lots of HP for 10K difference in price.

I wouldn't worry too much about the collectability yet. You're about 25 years away from that!

Different animals.

The vert will hold value better. There's always a market for used convertibles.

For 10K difference, you can upgrade the power/suspension far beyond that of the Z06. But if you really want to race, the vert won't cut it. You'd need to install a rollcage at a minimum on the vert to get it on the track. (I think for drag racing, any vert under 12.5sec needs a cage). But for daily driving duties, verts are pretty sweet.

Do you really want to take a financial hit of buying a car, only to have it for a few months to sell it again?

Default thanks!!

Thanks a bunch folks. Just those few answers made me think of a few things that I hadn't thought of. Now on that note does anyone have any ideas on the best way to add HP for the dollar. Say about how much HP for 4K? Or should I take that question to another forum? Thanks again.

Very few 10 year old and newer cas hold thare value. I Vette is not one of them.

The vert and Z06 are grate cars.
Just buy/enjoy the one thats right for you and your needs.

Personally, I'd go with the Z06. Just depends on what you really want out of the car.
