Default 2002 Fuel Gage problem

My fuel gage dropped to zero at 4200 miles then came back after filling the tank then went out completely at 4500 miles. I thought that the fuel sender problem had been addressed by GM. I now have had both a column lockout failure and a fuel sending unit failure on a 2002 Z06, it is very disappointing for such a fine automobile to be degraded though minor quality issues that should have been fixed long ago.

I've had the gas guage sending unit fix. Did you top off the tank? That is what invokes that problem for me. I haven't tried it since the "fix" but I did notice one time the gas guage took 10 min to register full after getting gas  Some fix, huh?
Not a big deal though
