Haven't done it yet, but getting ready to. I am going to use Damplifier Pro and either Spectrum or Spectrum sludge. Here are a couple of links that may help you decide. I understand it's at least a two day process, a friend of mine did it to his car and vet.
I just did my door panels and door sills with second skin Damplifier Pro and can tell huge difference. Got the door kit for $55 and had enough left over to do the door sills. Cut out tons of road noise. Gonna do trunk area next. Love it.

I was sent a sample of this; and was very impressed.

I tried using the fiberglass in the hatch wells approach, and I am not sure I hear any difference. I did hear one when bringing the big roll of it home in the hatch area.
I also measured it using a mike and laptop computer. No measured difference at the drivers seat either. Might need to try it measuring back in the hatch area to pick it up though. And I only measured after trying it out without seeming to get a benefit from it.
Did see one interesting result. There is a big peak at 24 hz, which I assume happens to be the basic frequency of the chassis. Said to be 23 hz according to published data. Measured a friends C5 and got that same 24 hz peak in the low frequencies.

It made a BIG difference in my car and others ! Did you make sure it was tight on all sides? Sealing off the wells completely is important. And did you put the fiberglass side down? If yes to both, I don't understand.
I actually went from fiberglass to foam sound insulation, as detailed in the post.

I went this route too during my carPC install. Used dynamat material since I was installing a sub and stuff.. then used 5 rolls of Frost King on the trunk and cab area. Made a ton of difference on road noise!

Yes, I read the whole thread, and fit it just as you described. Was at the Lowes near me, and figured for a few bucks why not give it a shot. Had high hopes, as I still have run flats on the car. So not sure what to say other than I had no real change.

My goal was to reduce tire noise. I used the Mike Mercury method and it really did the trick for me. I also 3/4 filled the storage bins in the trunk with fiberglass insulation. Big improvement! My vert ,with run flats, is as quiet as my Tahoe!
Has anyone used the stuff advertised on TV where they whack an oriental gong (you know what kind of noise that makes) and then they whack one coated with this sound absorber and it just makes kind of a thunk noise. Don't remember the name of the product but it sure caught my attention when they did the demo.

That sounds like the old display that Dynomat used in car audio stores that in the past. They have a tin can lid - one with out a small chuck of dynomat and one with. You hit each one with a little drum stick and the one with Dynomat made a dead thud sound. That’s why I used some Dynomat Extreme in my c5. I used small chucks on every major area and I have had great result. I did use some large chunks in the truck and behind the seat since that is were most of the noise originates. I covered all of it with Frost King and I am very happy with the results esp. when you consider the cost and over added weight.
Thanks guys for all your responses. I read them all and their links. I also did a search of "sound insulation" and came up with Abomination's awesome thread. He raves about the Damplifier stuff and so does this article.
I'm now on a mission to find what's available locally and if possible, to get my Vette as quiet as a bank vault. Thanks all.
