I think this is what mine is doing, it makes a rubbing sound like its getting stuck when going down. Should I clean it really well inside/out to fix this?
I am also planning to do tint..eventually, I have so many projects planned for my car actually
i have a scratch down the middle of each of my windows from somthing rubbing.. got tints and hasnt changed either way.. the scratch is on the outside of the windows and i can only hear it scratching occasionaly..had one of the windows replaced and they could find nothing wrong...who knows..I think i'll deal with it at a corvette shop next time
I just replaced my passenger window motor assembly a couple of weeks ago. The adjustment to fix the angle your window travels through the door is quick and painless. You do not even have to remove the door panel.
The window motor assembly is attached to the door with 7 bolts (3 for the motor and 4 for the frame). Only one of the bolts is in an adjustable hole. It is in the lower front corner of the door.
All you need for this adjustment is a half inch socket if I remember correctly.
To gain access to this bolt remove the rubber grommet on the underside of the front of the door. Laying on the ground looking up at the door you will see a bolt that is in about a 1-2" track. Moving the bolt towards the outside of the door in the tract causes the window to travel closer to the inside of the top seal of the door. Mine was positioned towards the outside of the door and I have no rubbing. Pop the rubber grommet back in and your done.
If your window is rubbing on the outside, move the bolt more to the outside of the door. If your window is rubbing on the inside and scratching your tint, move the bolt closer to the inside of the door.
