Default New Guy With New Ride.

I just purchased my first Corvette, a 2003 Z06, and I wonder why I waited so long. This car is fantastic to drive and runs like stink!! My car is black, a one owner, and has 28,700 miles but drives and even smells like a new car. I have been reading about the many modifications that you guys do and will be starting a few of my own.

It's a great car! The best mod I did was buy a set of Goodyear GS-D3s to solve the traction problem...the F1 Super cars were like driving on ice! The car really sticks to the pavement now!

Enjoy!

Welcome......I have a Black 03 as well, has 26k had it a little over 2yrs now, was a 1 owner as well, only had 1400 miles when i got it.
There is no cure for the mod bug, you just have to put your wallet on a tread mill so it has the stamina to get you through the symptoms.
Make sure you read all about Rangers protocol on Clutch fluid maintenance. Start looking for a reputable tuner in your area. It's a quick 25-40rwhp for just $4-5 hundred bucks and your car will run better (cooler for sure) plus you can get rid of the 1-4 skip shift.

WOW!! Thanks for the warm welcome! My immediate plans are to get my car cleaned up, good wash and waxing plus I need to spend come quality time getting all the swirls out of the paint. Strange thing is that the swirls were one of the first things I noticed about this car but after driving it I really did not even care if it had paint...it drove that good!!

Congrats on a great car . I bought my 04 Z last year and i'm still grinning ear to ear. I dreamed of owning a C5 Z06 since i was 15 and it became a reality.

At first i wanted to keep my Z06 bone stock, well that didnt last to long . I added a VaraRam CAI, High Flow Airbridge, Lowered on C6 bolts in front and longer bolts in rear and a tune by East Coast Supercharging. In the future i'm getting Pfadt Coliovers and sways, H/C and Headers from LGM and maybe a APS TT system .

Good Luck with a fantastic car

Picking up my '03 Z tomorrow. I'll be hanging out in here for some more great tips. Where's the link for the protocol on Clutch fluid maintenance?

Bought my '03 Z yesterday and drove the back roads last night until 1:30am. What a car.

hey, get yourself a Porter Cable 7424 random orbital and some good swirl remover(Pinnacle or Wolfgang's), and they will be gone in no time!

I realized my dream on May 11, 2004 when I picked up my '04 MS Z06.

it's crazy the amount of stuff you can do to this car to make it go even faster and handle even better(and it's pretty damn good right out of Bowling Green!!)

you are going to love this experience...

And hopefully you live near a road course. oh you have got to get this car on a track.....only then will you truly understand what all the fuss is about with this car!!

I haven't even seen the car in person yet and I have spent a ton on MODDS!!!!! I cannot help it, there is so much cool upgrades out there. Good luck with the sickness, I'm trying my best to slow down at least!!!!
