Default starting problem

here's my problem. about a month ago I got in and started my c-5 and turned the key and all I got was a clicking noise.I turned the key off and tried again and it started.A week later the same thing happened but this time it took me three or four times to get it started.I thought it was the battery so I charged the battery for a while got into the car and tried to start it again. This time it wouldn't start at all.The next day I had an appointment to take it to the dealer. I called to have it towed while waiting i I tried again to start it and it started right up Its at the dealer right now they can't find anything

thanks peter

One possibility is that your battery may have a weak cell(s) or some that are going bad. Did they do a load test on the battery to check for this? Also did they check your battery terminals and grounds to insure they are free of corrosion and are properly tightened?

The following contains more info on the proper way to test a battery:

Good luck with the fix!

The problem is either the starter or the solenoid . Same thing happened to me last week had to get my car towed. For me it was just the solenoid..

I would assume they would have checked the battery at the dealership. At least they should have checked it. You might have a bad connection to your starter or it could be inside the starter. The clicking noise is probably the relay sending power to the starter, which is normal but you dont usually hear it because the starter is turning over.
