Ive always stored my Camaro's on jack stands for the winter. What is every one's recommedation for storing the Z06 ? Does storing on jack stands damage the composite springs by letting them set unsupported for six month's? :smash:
Big mistake! Storing a car on jack stands places a torsional strain on the suspension bushings. That's why the plants torques the bushing bolts AT NORMAL RIDE HEIGHT, and the same instructions are in all Chevrolet service manuals. YOU SHOULD NEVER LET THE SUSPENSION HANG FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
Winter storage is no big deal, just change the oil, air the tires to at least 36 psi and keep the battery charged, either in the car or on the bench. The tires WILL flat spot. In fact ALL nylon belted tires flat spot when they cool down parked, but they will round out again when they are driven and warmed up, and tires don't have any "memory" to speak of. They don't know if they've been sitting overnight or a year.
Also remember that the biggest risk of damage from short term indoor storage is rodents and insects.

PS. The springs don't care whether they're fully loaded, partially loaded, or unloaded. They do have a finite life, but will probably outlive all of us.
