Cutout rattling, please help
Hey guys I finally got some cutouts installed on my Z06 and so far I love the sound but the only thing I don't like is the wierd rattling sound coming from the cutouts on decel. When I accelerate there is no rattling but when I let off the gas that horrible rattling sound comes back.
I have 2.5" qtp cutouts for anyone who wants to know, and my engine is completely stock, all the way down to the exhaust except for the cutouts.
If anybody has anysolution for this problem, please help.
And also I was wondering if anyone has any god steps for wiring these puppies up, I just taped into the cigg power and ground for a temporary control, but I'd like a more permanent solution, and also how did you guys mount the switch.

search on my posts about cutouts, lots of info. You can fix the rattle...it's actually a defect in the design, but the QTP folks won't really help you very much. Unless you want to send them back to them at your expense and get them back after 10 days or so.
Just take them off the car and get some good allen wrenches. All the issue really is....the collar that connects the motor shaft to the butterfly shaft needs to be moved so the setscrew sinks into the shaft better. The shaft is too short, so the setscrew may only be holding at the very end of the shaft...so it has too much play and rattles with the exhaust pulses. It will get worse until you fix it.
I fixed mine and they work great. Even better ..... get better setscrews, theirs are pretty crappy. ''
WARNING - Do NOT touch any of the other allen screws on the housing...you WILL break them off.
