I have the exact and only model/year that I would want an '02 Z06. While I like some of the older vettes, I wouldn't ever want to own one - and I don't like the looks of the C6's...
Money no object I would have to say a 67 Convertible 435 HP 427 numbers matching of course. I always loved them and it is only going to appreciate in value.
That would also be my choice but only if funds were unlimited.
I would want a 1973 orange vette, the year I was born. The last year of the rear chrome and the 427 block before the oil crisis of the 70's and ralph nader stepped in with a decrease in HP.
Unlimited money.....(I can't believe anyone hasn't said this yet). The Blue Devil Project vette, approx over 600 HP to beat out the viper's new stated HP.
I would have said a 67' 427, but a neighbor of mine is in the process of restoring his and I can catch a ride when he's done. A interesting story on how he found the original engine on E-bay after searching for 10 years. A one in a million chance.

Probably a C6 Vert, assuming I had to use it like I use my current car. If this hypothetical world also gave me a big, multi-car garage and let me keep my C5, then I'd say a 63-67 vert. But only if it was in very, very good condition.
