My guess is that if you wait long enough they will use the Stingray name again.
They have a large bag of tricks for selling new cars. I'm sure that name is somewhere in that bag.

Everything comes around in circles. It's just a matter of time until Stingray or Sting Ray makes a come back.
Not to throw the topic off but reusing the Hemi nameplate for Dodge is just insulting to the original thing. But I'm sure it has brought them in a bunch of sales, it is amusing how much the old nameplates get resurrected though.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

Well technically it could go in C2 and C3 but I'm not going to post it in both so I figured I'll stick with the best generation and the most knowledgeable people.
If GM does bring it back they need to do a retro Vette with all the new under pinnings
A NEW RETRO VETTE !!!!!!!
a guy drove in a C5 ( put on C5 topic ) converted to a retro 62 to our dealership sunday. i guess the guys brother is the guy up in the seattle area that designed the kit or builds it or something. that thing looked very cool. it was a 62 body put on a C5.
what could be done with something like this if GM built it from the ground up new ??? a retro, bad azz, new Stingray look at all the hipe over the Camaro and Challenger. it could be done and may go over very well as a second offered corvette new. could you imagine a retro vette with all new technology, driveability, safety, handleing, and reliability???
Funny thing, My favorite old 'Vette is the C-2 Stingray. I bought a C-5 Coupe because many of the C-2 styling cues were in a C-5, such as the "valley" roof and rear glass.
