In a few weeks i happen to be moving to more of a college town and am a little worried about leaving my Z out there with drunken kids around. What car covers are you guys using?
CALIFORNIA CAR COVER COMPANY has a very informative website with different covers for almost any application and circumstance...well, maybe not drunken kids...
Maybe he means the tie down grommets...simple plastic grommets on either side of the cover that you can use a piece of small gauge rope or a vinyl clad cable/padlock to secure the cover. Manufacturers usually offer them as a no cost option and include an extra in the event of one breaking.
The "Superweave" is what I have. It's like the "Weathershield" from your description. I got mine from CALIFORNIA CAR COVER COMPANY. Mine is blue to match the car. It's a high tech material (kind of like nylon), but it's soft to the paint and great dust protection. It's lightweight and can fold up into a very small bundle. It's got a four year warranty. I can also wash mine in the home washer/dryer and not have to pay $12 in quarters at the laundrymat. http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n...6-27-07022.jpg

Do you think the Superweave would work ok leaving it on at night (outside- no garage) and in the rain? (If it ever rains again in So Cal)
Make sure your car is CLEAN before you put the cover on. Any dirt you trap beneath the cover will act like sandpaper. At the very least, before putting on a car cover, do a couple passes with a California Car Duster, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow with a pass of instant detailer.
