WENT DOWN! My insurance is now cheaper with my '97 Corvette than it was for my '06 Civic EX. They said it was because one is a Chevy and the other a foreign car. I'll just say I wasn't expecting that.

thats great! my insurrance has gone down with every car ive bought in the last 5 years. started with a focus, to mustang gt, to cobra, to sport bike, to 00 vette.
In most cases the cost to cover a vette is cheaper or on par with less expensive boy racer cars... (Mustangs, F-bodies, Civics, Eclipse, etc...). General rule of thumb- if it's popular with the 16-25 year old crowd or it shows up in the lead role of a Fast and Furious movie- it'll be expensive to insure. No offense, I like all those aforementioned vehicles but that's life.
You realize only half of the vettes actually make it outside the confines of a garage...
I too, was shocked when I went to insure my '97 after I bought it. To add it to my existing policy with my '90 Harley and my '96 Ranger, it only cost me an extra $300 a year with Allstate. And that's full coverage with unlimited mileage.
Me Too! Mine went down almost $200 a year with Allstate, went from a 2006 Miata to a 98 Vette. Both cars have almost the same retail value at this time. We all know that in a few years the Vette will be much better!
My 99 Vette is cheaper then my 1997 Lincoln for insurance. I guess the Lincoln is considered a luxury car so it's high on insurance. Funny because for a luxury car it has the worst build quality I've ever had out of a car. My 1984 Plymouth Reliant station wagon which I used as a winter beater for a year was twice as good as that thing. I've had other Fords that were fine. I'm not complaining about the Corvette being cheap on insurance though
All insured 300/100/300 with $500 deducts for $1702 a year through Liberty Mutual. About $568 per car, per year... all of premiums for the individual cars are within about $30 or so of each other.
