Ok, my car is low, not super low like some I have seen, but it sets down pretty good.
When I bought the car, I purchased the frame rail protectors from CCA knowing how crap Texas roads can be. I swear no matter how careful I am there is just NO POSSIBLE WAY to avoid some things if you are following other cars.
Anyway, my painted area right under the car, I guess the frame rails, are well, scratched to hell. I drive super careful and it doesn't seem to be enough. There is no cracking, but they're banged up pretty good.
I just wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem and what the long term affects are. Doesn't seem to hurt the car in anyway and you can't see them, but it pisses me off none the less.
Do you mean the frame rails (painted black), or do you mean the ROCKER PANELS (pieces below the doors that run from wheel well to wheel well, and are part of the body)?
I'm slammed with rocker rails. No issues. There is some damage from the previous owner. He never used jacking pucks when he had the car on a lift. The damage is not noticable until it's on a lift. I lowered the car and installed rocker rails from Elite Eng. I really don't worry about it and the damage has not caused any problems.
Are the pieces replaceable or is this a waste of money? I just hate knowing that part of the car is "messed up" even though it really isn't, but you get my drift...
Nope. Rocker rails and frame savers and zero issues.
Yea and my car flies... You can't drive that car over any speedbump. Mine is about 1-1.5 inches higher than yours and it still scrapes... even if I go over 1 wheel at the time...
