Fri afternoon I had to have my '02 towed for the second time in 2 months. After the first fix, I thought I had some time before the problem came back. At least more than 2 months...
Currently fighting the dealer/GM Customer Service to pay for my 2nd tow... not expecting much.
the CLB wont work unless you have your PCM re-flashed back prior to any recalls and you remove the faulty GM k-harness that causes BCM to shut down fuel at 2mph

I don't believe you are totally correct. If you've had the latest recall performed and there are no "current" issues with your car the CLB can be installed and it will work. It is a preventative device which bypasses the faulty signal, thus shutting off your fuel, which is programmed by the dealer during the recall. Working properly the CLB bypasses this faulty signal, thus no fuel shut off and no column lock, but also with the latest recall there should be no locking plate to lock the column. Any questions just call COH.

I hope this is true. There are so many conficting posts on ths subject I don't know what to believe. My 98 has had the recall performed. I bought a CLB from COH and have not installed it yet. I had the pull key and fuel shut off once but started right back up. I hate to post the question because this gets beat up all the time. I am waiting for a clear and concise answer befor I install it or if I can install it?

Smart man. Then after the 10th you won't have to post a thread like D2 Brewing (Dave) is doing now. I would think GM would HAVE to make Dave whole no matter how many times their fix didn't fix anything. Or at least until February '08.

I'm with you on this one Jack. It must be the "It will never happen to me" syndrome. Or "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Both make sense until you either get stranded somewhere or read of the many folks in here that get stranded.

Your time is short -mine did the same thing =2004 Z- had all recalls with locking hub removed,K-harness installed--1 week later it left me stranded(my Chevy dealer mechanic came out to fix it at 10:00pm ) in a parking lot-- i call my friend -send him to my shop to get the CLB from COH i had bought and was looking for clear & concise too -my mechanic tells me K Harneess= SH$T - plugs in my CLB ,starts right up -- 2 yrs no problems since Do it or you will REGRET IT LIKE I DID --This problem will not go away and will undoubtedly Fark you at the worst possible moment -- Murphys Law #1 --THINGS LEFT TO THEMSELVES GO FROM BAD TO WORSEJMHO Good luck bro
I didn't think the '04's had this problem. My automatic coupe does not have a steering wheel lock on it. David
