i just purchased a set of stainless long tube headers for my stock 97. What will i need to get the job done. Will i need o2 extensions? What kind of gaskets work best with stainless steel headers? Anything else i should know? or buy? any info is greatly appreciated...
You might want to ask this question in the Tech section and include who the manufacture is. From what I have read Kooks install different than LG which install different than American Racing Headers etc.
Congrats on your purchase and good luck on the install
You might need to have it re-tuned due to the fact that the o2 sensers are going to be further down the line!
A tuner will likely turn off the two rear O2 sensers even though you will have them installed OR you can buy O2 simulaters for the rears (Fronts should be okay)
Either buy a handheld tuner to adjust and take full advantage of the headers or again have a tuner Dyno tune it and really get all you can out of it!
The only other thing you might need is adapters to mate the Headers to the stock cats if that is what you are using!
These are brand new long tube headers for a 1997-2004 C5 Corvette.
These headers offer a 1 3/4" Primary, with a 3" Collector. On a stock Z06, these headers produced and additional 20hp / 20 ft / lb.
These headers are stainless steel and have a 2 year warranty. They are a very nice finish, and wont orange peel like some other company's out there.
They install in under 2 hours! Don't settle for an inferior imitation headers offered by " Hot " coating places!
THESE ARE 321 STAINLESS - NOT MILD STEEL! BEAUTIFUL LOOK - BIG POWER - HUGE PRIMARIES!
RANDOM-TECH X PIPE IS COMPATIBLE AS WELL AS STOCK SETUP
IF YOU WIN THIS AUCTION YOU WILL RECEIVE 1 SET OF CORVETTE HEADERS

Sounds like a nightmare in the making.
What brand, what about stuff like O2 extensions, compatibility of parts etc.
Why not go with stuff recommended on the forum?
If the manufacturer isnt giving you this information you are headed for some long term headaches I think. Been down that road and have learned (the hard way) price isnt everything.
Go after the manufacturer for the technical info you need specific to their product. Best of luck!
i dont know about the headers you purchased but i do know that you will not be able to install any long tube headers under 2 hours your first time.. i just installed mine last weekend and followed half of the directions on ls1howto.com but alot of it i had to figure out myself in a different way.. all different brands are shaped differently and go in differently... i cleaned up and reused the stock layeres steel gaskets and bolts.. if you dont have access to a lift, buy rhino ramps and/or 4 jack stands, the front ones need to get your around 20'' high.. do a search in the tech section and you will find al the info you need.. good luck and dont get frustrated! thats when you have the greatest chance to screw something up
