I went to the gym last night and parked out in front like always.
the sun just set and the red neon of the gym has hitting my torched red vette.
Im on the treadmill warming up when I see a group of young guys walk up to the vette pointing at it. then they take out their camera phones and start to snap pictures of it.
It is cool. I stopped at a small grocery store recently. A woman and her 20 ish daughter complemented me on the car and the daughter asked if she could take photos with her cell phone.
Does give one a warm glow. Or maybe it was the daughter.
I know what you mean. I took mine to the local cruise night yesterday and the family followed in our other car. My kids couldn't get over all the attention they got sitting in the Vette and the pictures taken. They have a new appreciation for why Dad spent "all that money".
I was pulling in to In-N-Out the other day when a van with a lady and her son were pulling out. The boy (about 8-10) says "Mommy, Mommy what is that?" The mom says, "That's a Corvette Johnny. It's a very special car."
People make comments all the time on the car. Sometimes shouting some nice words at stop lights even. It's also great when your parked somewhere with a other vettes and yours gets a good amount of face time compared to the others. I stopped at a dealership a few weeks ago and 2 guys working there were taking pictures with their phones when I came out to leave. One of them said that "it must be great to drive that car whenever you want". I try not to take it for granted...it really is an amazing machine.

I decided to drive the Corvette today instead of my business vehicle. I had to go to a meeting that is 30 miles from my office each way and just had the perfect excuse to drive it there today. After I got back the car is sitting outside my office window and I look out and a Silver C6had stopped and was eyeing my baby pretty closely for about a minute or so and then goes down the street, pulls a u turn comes back around and looks again and then gone. I just figured he was jealous or maybe thought it was for sale....which it is not. I felt pretty good about that!!!

Great story! I drove my Vette to the post office a couple of months ago and a 60-ish year old woman got out of her car and STARED at mine. I am used to this from youngsters but was a bit surprised at her reaction. But I pretended not to notice and went about my business. As I got closer, she said, "THAT is a beautiful car! I thanked her and then she said, "You should have gotten red though..."

Just a couple hours ago I picked up some drive through burgers for my boys in my yellow coupe. I had the targa top off and the cashier did a double-take when I pulled up. It was pretty cool, as I generally have the same reaction when similar sports cars cross my path.
On a related note, man it's tough hearing the little drive through speaker with the LS1 exhaust note rumbling five feet behind your head, bouncing off the plexiglass. I'd think it would be impossible with an aftermarket setup to grab some chow.
