Who has these on their Z? Do you like them better than the F1 Supercar tires? What sizes did you end up with for stock size rims (TireRack and my local Kaufman don't have them in the F1 sizes on my car now)?

I have some on my F-body and after 2 years they are hardening up a little, getting less sticky. If you like performance in dry weather, I would go F1SC or BF KD in a street tire. You need it if you like to use 1st gear.

I have them on my Cad.

Not to sticky when cold (what tire is?)

Also, they need to "warm up" to get into balance.

I like them a heck of a lot more then the run flats, but then I went up one size also.

The GS-D3's seem to stay on back order...............you may want to try discount tire, they are a bit less than Tire Rack (DT ships free TR doesn't) Take a look at this thread, it may answer some of your questions.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1753256

Also tire selection should be something that takes alot of things into consideration......ie: budget, what you want to do with the car, looks...ect.............so give some more info on what you're trying to accomplish you may get more feed back............some of us have done quite a bit of home work that could help cut down some of yours.

I never put anything else on my F-body.....I always ran them near max pressure...never had a problem with hardening..but then I live in the land of perpetual warm weather...

There's a reason they're always on back order....they'er really good tires...

Just replaced my stock F1 SC w/ the GSD3's.

They seem to have a little less grip in hard curves, but they are very close. I haven't had them in the rain yet where they are supposed to totally outshine the stock F1's

I used the 275/40 ZR 17 front and 295/35 ZR 18 rear, got them at Evan's tires....

How was the rear tire width/ In both looks and actual size...............the Wide Ovals I had were noticeably thinner looking.
The F1's have a more square shoulder as do the Falken Azenis RT-615's, but the Wide Ovals are alot more rounded.........the Falkens 275/40 fronts were pretty much the same width as the WO's rear 295/35.

Any Pics of these on the car?

Budget is a minor concern, really want the best looking, best traction, best handling tire available for normal street driving. My F1's are terrible in the rain; I try not to drive the Vette on wet days but sometimes you can't help it.

I don't have any pics, sorry....... Yeah I know, how dare I not have pics....

The fronts at 275 v 265 seem look better to me, they fill the wheel well, but don't stick out at all.

The rears have the same look as the originals, but with a real cool looking tread design....

Yea, I love the looks of the GS-D3's, very aggressive tread design.
Was my 1st choice for that reason.

I havent had a chance to compare the D3's in a vette but I ran nothing else on my f-body which as you know is much heavier than a vette..I used to throw that car (the Camaro) into turns with impunity....never had a slip..and you wont find a bettr tire in the rain...again...my experience has been with a hevier less nimble car.... IM guesssing with teh vette....they're gonna shine

They have a very "square" profile they look wider than they really are....

I have been impressed ith teh super car tires as well..I had heard allot of negatives surrounding them..in dry weather they are really good tires..no experience in teh rain....babby dont liek water..except on wash day!

I have used the D3's on/off since they came out a few years ago. For a daily driver the tires are great. I used them at t Pacific Raceways 2.25mi track back in April to see how they would do and they did not perform as well as I had hoped. I could not carry the speed through the corners like I could on the F1's. On the drag strip they perform pretty good but not quiet like the F1's again. Now my biggest gripe about the D3's is that they do not make the stock size for the fronts so the front has more sidewall than the rears and it does not look right. But then again I notice small things like that. Until they make a stock size for the front or a 315/18 for the rear I will not buy them again. Plus I really did enjoy the F1's even in the rain. I took my driving school at PR with them on and in the rain. Why everyone has problems with them when its wet outside is beyond me.

Good review

I'm one that notices small things when it comes to looks as well, I had also considered the Pilot sports (not ps2's) to get the 315 in the rears because they look similar to the D3's, but they are too expensive for as long as tires last me

Interesting that you didn't have too many issues with the F1's in wet weather, that seems to be a common complaint with them.............I know I had hydroplaned a few times with them (one time it put me into the lane next to me, lucky there was no one there, and TCS/AH saved my butt).
For me the F1's didn't last long at all............I know I'm hard on tires but come on, but to be fair the car had 1400 miles on it and was almost 2yrs old when I bought it so I'm sure some dry roting may have occured.
But half way through the tire it seemed to not have any traction...........became fun and easy to slide around corners though..

Most of the track guys like the F1's (and PS2's) so not that much of a surprize that they out performed the D3's when compared on track driving. As far as a steet tire I think I will end up trying the D3's in the future, for now I am well pleased with my Falken RT-615's............they definitely ride nicer than the F1's.

I live in the great state of rain and crappy roads. The F1's never gave me a problem but I was always anticipating something. These tires are so wide that I would say if you hydroplaned no tire would have prevented that from happening. I know, the ruts in the highways up here hold lots of water so I stay out of the ruts. I did run the Toyo RA1's last summer for daily/track duty (prior to this set of D3's) and they were horrible in the rain BUT great on the track. Learned my lesson not to use them for daily duty unless I live in a dry place.

I had GS-D3's on my 96 Grand Sport (C4) and they were really a great all around tire.
I am now trying to pick the right tire for my Z06. Still undecided but leaning toward the F1 SC.
