Default Borla stinger quad ovals...reaction

So it finally got on my car! installation cost around $250 total. I did it myself, but had to buy a recip saw and an extra set of ramps...so that's $250 which will come in handy many more times.

so how is it? perfect 10 out of 10! you should have seen the smile on my face the first time we fired it up! I had no lift but the install went very easily, I don't think it took any more than 30 minutes start to finish. I drove the car up on ramps then used a jack to pick up the rear, and put the back wheels on ramps. that was all the ground clearance I needed. I did however cut the exhaust. that was my plan from the beginning. I would cut the exhaust in a way that I could put a coupler on it so I could reinstall the stock exhaust if I ever needed to. plus with the new coupling point I made the stock exhaust would go on much easier. After the cut the mufflers and tips dropped right out easily. the over axle pipes also came out beautifully but not from the back, I pushed them over forwards and they came right out. with the car on ramps I basically just raised everything up about 8 inches or so. with that clearance the Borla axle pipes went on easily. Those I put on from the back. the tips were very easy to align it almost looked like they just fell right into place. perfect alignment in every way. and they look so much better than my 99 stock tips!

as far as the sound, its much quieter than I thought it would be, but it still sounds so good. I'm not having any of the issues which some have noted. the drone around 1000-1500, I can sorta hear it. but it sounds more like a cat purring in the passenger's seat. its not annoying at all. with the windows down at high way speeds the wind noise completely drowns out the sound of the exhaust. the popping sound that some don't like on deceleration I would describe much more as a throaty burble, in fact its my favorite sound the exhaust makes. the car makes a nice burble like that right after start up, its so great! I researched all over the place to find the right sound, and Borla was exactly what I wanted. I'm not disappointed in the slightest.

also to the LAPD where I bought it. I got an e-mail from them after buying saying that it was on back order and it would be 2-3 weeks before Borla even sent them out, then they had to be shipped to me. I think I had them in hand in about 3 weeks. considering the back order and the fact that the LAPD is about as far away from me as you can get, that's pretty quick service.
