Things that make you go hmmm...Yesterday after waiting out the rain, I get behind the wheel, close the door, key in the ignition and as the seat starts to move forward to the recall position, it stops after moving about an inch, nowhere near the recall position.
I "wash, rinse, repeat" to no avail. I then get out of the car and try to move the seat up myself. Nothing. I then move it all the way to the rear, wait a second and then send it back forward. This time it goes all the way forward to the stops. I move it all the way back, get behind the wheel, shut the door, key in the ignition and it moves back to it's rightful recall position.
Ghost in the machine? Or are there larger problems on the horizon?
I think there is a setting in the DIC for "Easy Exit" that moves the seat back when the door opens. You may want to disable that and have the seat stay in the same position.

Mine has a mind of it's own sometimes too. It likes to work opposite...the seat moves backward and the mirrors move the wrong direction. If I pull the key, open & close the door, and put the key back in, it works okay. Sometimes I have to do it a couple of times.
