i have the 3m clear bra for my o3 ae vert and was thinking of installing it myself but decided not to and called a local shop that installs them. is 400-450 to much for the install i was thinking about 200-250. i have the deluxe kit but i dont think i have the mirrors or rocker panels. thanx brad
I had one put on my vette and it takes about 1 hr for 2 guys. its not that hard and very forgiving to install. after seeing them do it. lots of water and a credit card or a hand spreader. the kind they put auto bondo or body filler with. (not on vettes that is) its easier than installing window tint and along the same lines. you can find some clips on the web on how to. dont put it on if your car is a light color. I took mine off. Good luck

Can i ask why you shouldn't put it on if your car is a light color?
I was going to install one on my Corvette, it's white.

Sorry to interrupt but do you have any more pics of your car?

I do not recommending someone who is not trained on this. Trust me, I am a trained installer and it is not easy. Window tint is MUCH easier to apply, not sure who thinks otherwise. You will waste your money doing it yourself. It is NOT forgiving, and it is best left to spending extra money now to have it installed. Trust me.

I had it on my car and it was the 3M product. it did turn a slightly tint of yellow from sun exposure. darker colors are better with the clear bra. I live in the mountains and at times the road gets rock on it for traction from the frost. I was hoping it would hold up from the pea gravel size rocks better. It also will give you an orange peal effect where it is applied. thats my first hand option. Good luck

After watching my installer work, I can assure you go
with a pro.
Got my car done about 2x ago. When I left the shop I noticed some strected film and water pockets. The installer told me to give it a couple of weeks for the water to completely dry out and should remove the imperfections. Well it's been 2 weeks and there still some strected marks and now noticed some air pockets. It this common or should I go back and have them redo the job?

Take if back. Some air bubbles can be removed, but you may still notice where they were if you have a dark colored vehicle. Stretch marks can usually be avoided in most places, but depending on the curve, they can occur. If you are not happy with the job, take it back and have them redo it. If you have 3M film, the factory warranty does not cover installation errors; those are the responsibility of the installer.
