Default New Tires and TPMS

My 2002 vert will be getting new tires soon at 32,000 miles replacing the original GY's. I had GS D3's on a '96 LT4 (great tire) but for piece of mind I decided to purchase Michelin Pilot Sport run flats. What about the TPMS? Should these be replaced? I believe the valve stem is a part of the TPMS; should the valve stem gaskets be replaced?

I replaced the tires on my 98 a couple of months ago with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's that I purchased from Discount Tire Direct for $1088 incl free shipping and had a local shop that they reccommended, install for $20/tire. I also replaced the TPS since the car was 9 1/2 years old. Since your sensors are not that old, but it's a pain to have to remove the tires to replace the sensors at a later date, I would reccommend you go ahead and replace them. The sensors come with a new O-ring and you re-use your old nuts.

I would replace them just because you are in there, you can get a set of 4 from Gene Culley at gmpartshouse.com for like 150 or 160 and not have to worry about it, sell your old ones and you have new for not much

Gen II TPMS ( post '00) do not have separate gaskets. The are molded into the valve stem.
