Just picked up a screw in my front tire what are your thoughts on plugs do they work I don,t really want to replace just one tire because they are fairly new tires.
You want both. A plug will keep water from getting to the belts and the patch is the preferred method of sealing the air in. I would not worry what so ever about a plug coming out as long as it was properly installed. Discount Tire will do this repair free on passenger and light truck tires even if you did not purchase them there. Go figure! I dont know about a free repair on a RFT or EMT. Those are a royal B1TCH to get off the wheel.

I used to be a commercial tire sales man, and the only way i would run a tire on my car is with a plug patch combo. The one thing to remember is that it takes your Z rated tire to an S rated tire. I wouldnt worry about it unless you are going over 90 mph for a long distance. What ever you do DONT JUST PLUG THE TIRE.
